OLIVEIRA NAMED NJCAA NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hutchinson CC Sports Information
For the first time in five seasons, a Hutchinson Community College Volleyball player earned national player of the week recognition.
Blue Dragon freshman libero Clara Oliveira was named the NJCAA Division I Player of the Week for her huge match last Saturday against Seward County.
Oliveria had a career-high 35 digs in a four-set win over the Saints in Liberal. That is a Blue Dragon program single-match record.
Oliveira is the first Blue Dragon to win national weekly honors since setter Chloe Price on February 24, 2021. That season was pushed to the spring season because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Oliveira is leading the KJCCC with 5.12 digs per set.
