REVERSE SWEEP HIGHLIGHTS DAY 1 IN WYOMING FOR DRAGONS

TORRINGTON, Wyoming – The Hutchinson Community College volleyball team pulled off its second reverse sweep of the season in its opening match of the Eastern Wyoming Classic on Friday afternoon at Eastern Wyoming College.
The Blue Dragons rallied to defeat Central Wyoming 3-2 (17-25, 18-25, 25-17, 25-14, 15-11) to opening the four-match, two-day tournament. The Dragons went 1-1 on opening day with a 3-1 loss to North Idaho (25-17, 18-25, 18-25, 23-25).
The Blue Dragons are now 7-7 overall. Hutchinson will play Eastern Wyoming at 9 a.m. and Colorado Northwestern at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Hutchinson's first reverse sweep game against North Platte Community College on August 30 in the McCook Labor Day Classic in McCook, Nebraska. This was the ninth reverse sweep in Blue Dragon volleyball history. The Dragons are 2-2 this season in five-set matches.
Sophomore outside hitter Alondra Villanueva led the Blue Dragons with 16 kills against Central Wyoming. She had nine kills over the final three sets.
Sophomore middle Kierny Follmer hit .800 in the fifth set with four kills in five attacks. Overall. Follmer hit .300 for the match with nine kills on 20 swings. She also had five digs and two blocks.
Sophomore Jaylynn McNeill had 10 kills and hit .160. Freshman middle Mattie Galliher hit .455 with eight kills and no errors on 18 attacks.
Sophomore setter Angela Reupena posted her first career double-double with 33 assists and 10 digs. Freshman setter Alexandra Garcia had 23 kills and seven kills.
Freshman libero Clara Olivera had 28 digs and freshman defensive specialist McKenzye Williamson had a season-high 18 digs.
The Blue Dragons hit .130 for the match.
NORTH IDAHO RECAP
Moving over to Torrington High School for their second match, the Blue Dragons rolled to an opening-set victory over North Idaho College, but couldn't keep the momentum, falling in four sets.
The Blue Dragons hit .242 in the first set, but hit below .100 in each of the final three sets and closes the match hitting .077.
Villanueva again led the Blue Dragons with 12 kills on 33 attacks, hitting .091. Sophomore Atlyn Proctor had 10 kills and hit .241 for the match. Proctor had eight digs.
McNeill had seven kills and sophomore Pricilla Raschen had six kills.
Reupena had her second double-double of the day with 21 assists and 10 digs. Garcia had 17 assists and 14 digs.
Oliveira had 12 digs and Williamson had eight digs to lead the Dragon back row.
Hutchinson and North Idaho played for the first time since the 2015 NJCAA Tournament in Casper, Wyoming. The Blue Dragons defeated the Cardinals in the ninth-place match.
