The Blue Dragons enter play this weekend with a 3-1 record. Hutchinson saw a 33-game homecourt win streak snapped after a 66-56 loss to NEO last Friday in the BSN Sports Tip-Off Classic. The Dragons rebounded with a 78-61 win over Neosho County on Saturday.
Hutchinson will play Murray State at 6 p.m. on Friday. The Aggies are 3-1 so far with its only loss to Division II top-ranked Johnson County in the season opener. Murray State has since defeated Highland, Arkansas Cossatot and North Idaho.
One year ago in the BSN Classic, Murray State gave the Blue Dragons all they could handle in a 69-68 Hutchinson victory. The Blue Dragons led 61-42 entering the fourth quarter and the Aggies outscored the Dragons 26-8 in the final 10 minutes and had the final shot of the game to win it.
Otero - Hutchinson's Saturday 4 p.m. opponent - is 0-5 thus far with four losses to KJCCC competition. The Rattlers have lost to Seward County twice (91-85 in OT and 80-71) and twice to Garden City (74-65 and 77-70). Otero's other loss was to Laramie County (93-54).
No. 20 State Fair has started the year 5-0.
