The Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team's stay outside the Top 10 of the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Rankings lasted one week.
With victories over Pratt and Seward County and losses by McLennan and Gulf Coast State, the Blue Dragons leaped back into the Top 10 at No. 9 on Monday.
That sets up a Top 10 national matchup and a battle for the Jayhawk Conference championship on Wednesday at the Sports Arena as No. 7 Dodge City and the Blue Dragons meet at 5:30 p.m. Dodge City leads Hutchinson by one game entering the final game of the regular season.
For the first time all season, the KJCCC has four teams ranked in the Top 25. In addition to Hutchinson and Dodge City, Coffeyville is now No. 20 and Butler enters the rankings at No. 25.
Northwest Florida State takes over the No. 1 in the rankings, the fifth different time the top team in the rankings has changed this season.
Three Rivers is No. 2, followed by New Mexico Junior College at No. 3, former No. 1 Chipola at No. 4 and Wabash Valley at No. 5.
The Region 6 Tournament opens on Saturday. The Blue Dragons have an opening-round bye on Saturday and will be either the No. 1 or No. 2 seed and will play at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday March 11 against an opponent to be determined.
