Bio
Troy Potts joins the Blue Dragon Men’s Basketball staff for the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach.
A native of Quincy, Illinois, Potts brings coaching experience at two different collegiate levels to the Blue Dragons.
Most recently, Potts was an assistant coach for the Frank Phillips College men’s basketball program for the 2024-25 season. FPC had four all-conference players on a 25-9 team that snapped a 67-year national tournament drought when Frank Phillips qualified for the 2025 NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament.
While at Frank Phillips, Potts also served as the athletic program’s Sports Information Director.
Before coaching in Texas, Potts was an assistant coach and junior varsity head coach at Quincy University in the 2023-24 season.
From 2021 to 2023, Potts was a graduate assistant at Quincy University. During the 2022-23 season, Quincy returned to the GLVC Tournament for the first time in six seasons.
Potts is a 2018 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School. He graduated from Quincy University in 2021 which a bachelor’s in Business Management and earned his master’s in Business Administration from Quincy in 2023.
