BLUE DRAGONS LOOK TO TURN THINGS AROUND AT NO. 15 BARTON

This week, the Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team will battle its first two nationally ranked teams of the season starting Wednesday night.
First up, the Blue Dragons (6-4, 1-3 KJCCC) travels to play the 15th-ranked Barton Cougars (8-1, 3-1 KJCCC) at 7:30 p.m. at the newly renovated Fleske Fieldhouse in Great Bend. Then on Saturday, the Blue Dragons play host to No. 21 Cowley at 3 p.m. at the Sports Arena.
The Hutchinson-Barton game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and on sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) beginning at 7:15 p.m. with Sean Boston (PBP) and Daren Dunn (color) calling the action. The game will be streamed live exclusively on the Cougar Sports Network, a pay-per-view platform.
Hutchinson looks to snap a two-game losing streak after dropping close games to Independence and Seward County last week. The Blue Dragons also look to snap a seven-game losing streak to the Cougars.

The Blue Dragon offense look to re-ignite their offense that was held to 12 different statistical season lows in a 53-48 loss to the Saints on Saturday.
Sophomore forward Bobby Cannon is averaging 28.5 points per game over his last two games to lead the Blue Dragons. Cannon had a career-high 38 points against Independence last Wednesday and scored 19 points against Seward County.
Cannon is now No. 4 in scoring in the Jayhawk Conference at 19.3 points per game. He is also ninth in the league in rebounds at 6.7 boards per game.
Sophomore point guard Lolo Rudolph is the Jayhawk Conference's leader in assists at 6.2 assists per game. He is averaging 7.0 assists over his last six games.
The Cougars suffered their first league loss of the season on Saturday. The Cougars fell 84-77 at No. 15 Coffeyville. Sebastian Muchitsch came off the bench to lead five Barton players with 13 points. Coffeyville hit 13 3-pointers against Barton.
The Cougars are averaging 75.3 points per game offensively, shooting 41.1 percent overall and 27.9 percent from 3-point range. Barton is allowing 71.1 points per game.
Sophomore Aris Rodriguez is Barton's leading scorer at 18.5 points per game. Hayden Ramirez averages 11.3 points per game.
Wednesday's matchup is the 129th all-time meeting between Hutchinson and Barton. The Blue Dragons lead the series 91-37, but the Cougars have a current and series-long seven-game win streak. The last Hutchinson win in the series Jan. 6, 2022, a 95-89 win in Hutchinson.
