The Hutchinson Community College football team may have been shut out during the NFL Draft, but the Blue Dragons will have a former player in the 2018 rooking class when fall camps open in July.

Former Blue Dragon All-Jayhawk Conference linebacker Kyle Wilson (2014-2015) signed as an undrafted free agent with the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday.

That means the Blue Dragons have had at least one former player in an NFL Rookie Class for four consecutive years and in 5 of the last 6 seasons.

The Eagles had Wilson work out in a rookie camp as a tryout player earlier this year. The team signed the Wichita South product, "following the injury to Paul Worrilow and the release of Mychal Kendricks," according to the team's official web site.

Wilson was a part of Hutchinson's Jayhawk Conference championship and Salt City Bowl-winning team in 2014.

After Hutchinson, Wilson transferred to Arkansas State, where he had 173 tackles, 26.5 for loss, an interception, and a forced fumble.

Playing 24 games for the Blue Dragons over his two seasons in 2014 and 2015, Wilson accumulated 172 total tackles, including 64 solo tops with 3.5 quarterback sacks.

In his all-conference season of 2015, Wilson had 94 total tackles. He had four games with 10 or more tackles, including a career-best 15 against both Butler and Ellsworth. Wilson had two quarterback sacks in that Ellsworth game.

Wilson becomes the first Blue Dragon to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles' organization. Former Blue Dragon players have signed or was drafted by 22 different NFL franchises over the years.
