Bio

Chandler Bloomer joins the Blue Dragon coaching staff for the 2026 season as the hitting coach and lead recruiter.

Bloomer comes to Hutchinson after two seasons at Barton Community College as an assistant from 2023 to 2025.

His primary responsibilities at Barton were coaching catchers and outfield. Bloomer’s two-year record at Barton was 83-34. The team won the 2025 Jayhawk West championship. Bloomer also had one NJCAA All-American at Barton (Robbie Bolin) in 2024.

Bloomer also played collegiately at Barton in 2019 and 2020 as a catcher and outfielder.

He hit .229 in 44 games as a freshman (30 for 131) with two homers and 17 RBIs and he threw out 23.1 percent of base-stealers. Bloomer got off to a tremendous start to the 2020 season that was cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic. Bloomer hit .354 in 22 games (28 for 279) with three homers and 17 RBIs. He threw out 40.0 percent of would-be base-stealers.

For his career at Barton, Bloomer hit .276 in 66 games at Barton with 58 total hits, seven doubles, five home runs and 34 RBIs. He erased 31.2 percent of base-stealers.

From 2020 to 2023, Bloomer played at Emporia State for head coach Seth Wheeler as a catcher, first baseball and outfielder.

His best single year with the Hornets was 2023, where he hit .305 (47 for 154) in 44 games with four homers and 21 RBIs. Over his three seasons at Emporia State, Bloomer hit .279 (129 for 463) with eight doubles, a triple, four home runs and 73 RBIs. He also had a career .990 fielding percentage with the Hornets.

A native of Ottawa, Kansas, Bloomer graduate from Ottawa High School in 2018. He earned an Associate of Fine Arts from Barton Community College in 2020 and earned his Bachelors of Science in Sports Management from Emporia State in 2023.

He is the son of Kari and Chad Bloomer. He has two brothers – Chase (who plays at SIU-Edwardsville) and Boston.
