Hutchinson Community College outfielder Cru Huenfeld became the 18th Blue Dragon baseball player to be named to the NJCAA Division I Baseball All-America team on Wednesday.
A 6-foot-2, 220-pound freshman from Overland Park, Kansas, was named to the 2026 NJCAA All-America second team after a record-setting performance this spring.
Huenfeld was a major part of the 2026 Blue Dragons setting nine offensive records and posting a 46-15 overall records. The Blue Dragons finished No. 22 in the final NJCAA national rankings.
Huenfeld became the first Blue Dragon to amass 100 runs batted in for a season this spring. He shattered the old Hutchinson single-season RBI record by 13.
The Blue Dragon outfielder also became the first Blue Dragon since Quintin Crandall in 2015 to hit for the cycle. Then he became the first Blue Dragon ever to hit for the cycle twice in the same season. Huenfeld first hit for the cycle against Colby on March 7 and matched that feat on April 23 with a cycle against Pratt at Hobart-Detter Field.
For the season, the University of Nebraska commit hit .386 in 60 games, going 81 for 210. Huenfeld had 25 doubles, five triples and a team-high 23 home runs to drive in 100 runs for the season. He had an .881 slugging percentage and stole 12 of 14 bases this season.
Huenfeld's single-season Blue Dragon rankings are:

+ 185 total bases rank No. 3;
+.881 slugging percentage ranks No. 4;

Huenfeld had 26 multi-hit games, including a pair of four-hit games against Colby and Pratt. He posted 30 games with multiple RBIs, including five games of five or more runs batted in. He drove in a single-game high seven against Coffeyville on February 28 at Hobart-Detter Field.
Huenfeld's home run total was part of the 2026 Blue Dragons' record 131 homers. He had two two-home run games against Cloud County on April 4 and Seward County on April 16.
Huenfeld is the first Blue Dragon All-American is Will Edmunson in 2023.
