Fresh off an upset of the No. 4 team in the nation and a 2-2 showing at one of the toughest tournaments in the nation, the Hutchinson Community College Volleyball Team is getting closer to breaking into the NJCAA's Top 20.

Hutchinson appeared in the receiving votes list of the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Rankings, which were released on Tuesday.

The Blue Dragons are 7-4 overall and 3-0 in the Jayhawk West. On Friday, Hutchinson swept then No. 4 Salt Lake at the CSI/Starr Corp. Classic in Twin Falls, Idaho. That was Hutch's first victory over a Top 5-nationally ranked opponent in two years.

This is Hutchinson's first appearance in the NJCAA Volleyball Rankings in nearly a full year. Hutchinson was last in the rankings with a No. 19 ranking on September 27, 2016. Hutch was unranked or didn't receive votes in the 2017 preseason or Week 1 regular-season rankings released last week.

Undefeated Seward County has climbed into the nation's Top 10 at No. 9.

Miami-Dade is the unanimous choice as the No. 1 team in the NJCAA. The Sharks are followed by Iowa Western, Panola, Western Nebraska and Southern Idaho.

Salt Lake dropped from No. 4 to 10 and Snow College, which swept Hutchinson in Twin Falls, moved up to No. 8.

The Blue Dragons have or will play nine of the teams ranked in the NJCAA Top 20 this week.

Hutchinson will play host to Butler on Wednesday at the Sports Arena.
