HOBBS, NM – Hutchinson Community College sophomore Jewel Bolden continued her strong showing at the 2019 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.

Bolden qualified for the 100-meter hurdle finals on Friday. She was just a handful of Blue Athletics who competed on Friday.

Bolden posted the fifth-fastest preliminary time of 14,08 seconds on Friday and will run out of Lane 2 for Saturday's final.

On Friday, Golden placed fifth in the long jump with a PR of 19 feet, 6 inches.

Only two other Blue Dragons were in action on Friday.

Gabby Collins placed 13th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:57.10.

Beanie Luttig didn't qualify for the finals in the discus throw. She placed 13th overall with a throw of 131 feet.

On Saturday, in addition to Bolden in the 100 hurdle finals on Saturday, Katy Commins will compete in the javelin throw and Aileen Gomez will run the 5,000 meters.
