CRETE, Neb. – Sophomore Jewel Bolden qualified for the NJCAA Indoor National Championships in a second individual event on Saturday to lead the Hutchinson Community College women's track and field team at the Fred Beile Classic at Doane University's Fuhrer Fieldhouse.

Already qualified in the 60-meter hurdles, Bolden added the long jump to her national resume.

With the second-best high jump in Blue Dragon women's indoor history, Bolden became a Beile double-event winner when she won the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 7 1/4 inches.

Earlier in the day, Bolden won the 60-meter hurdles in a season-best time of 9.00 seconds. That's the third best time in Blue Dragon indoor history.

Bolden was the only new qualifier on Saturday and the Blue Dragons now have four qualifiers for the NJCAA Indoor Championships in Pittsburg on March 2-3.

+ Sophomore Tatyana Hopkins finished fourth in the 60 meter finals with a time of 7.97 seconds.

+ Sheila Too finished third in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11:29.38.

Hutchinson will split teams next week, going both to the Gorilla Indoor Classic in Pittsburg and the Highland Invitational in Highland.
