The No. 16-ranked Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team goes after a season sweep of the Hesston Larks on Saturday.
The Blue Dragons and Larks will kick off at 7 p.m. at the Hesston College Soccer Field.
Hutchinson defeated Hesston 4-0 on September 6 at the Salthawk Sports Complex. Mikayla Moreseco, Yadira Delgado, Jasmine Blindt and Megan Maslak scored goals for the Blue Dragons. Brailey Moeder had her first career three-assist game in that first meeting. Goalkeeper Clara Burgmuller made one save to earn her second win over the season.
The Blue Dragons out-shot Hesston 13-1.
The Blue Dragons haven't played since last Saturday's road game at Garden City. Hutchinson was supposed to play at Cloud County on Wednesday, but that game was postponed until October 23 because of field conditions in Concordia.
Through nine games, Hutchinson has outscored its opponents 42-1.
Moeder is now tied for second in the Jayhawk Conference in goals scored (9), tied for second in points (25) and tied for third in assists (7). She has scored at least one point in 8 of 9 games played this year.
Sophomore Sheena Nichol is picking up the scoring pace. Now with goals in four-straight games, Nichol has seven for the season, which is tied for fourth.
Burgmuller is 4-0 with four shutouts. Sophomore Ashley Main is 5-0 with four shutouts. She has a 0.25 goals-against average and .941 save percentage.
Midfielder Miho Okuda is Hesston's leading scorer with eight goals, seven assists and 23 points. Connor Atkinson and Miya Gonda have five goals each.
Vivi Rodriguez is 5-2 in goal for the Larks with a 1.45 goals-against average and .791 save percentage.
Hesston lost its last game on Tuesday, 4-2 to Northwest Tech.
Hesston College will be collecting items for Hygiene Kits for Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). MCC provides these kits for individuals and families who have fled their homes because of disaster or war that often struggle to afford necessary supplies. MCC also provides kits to schools or orphanages to encourage healthy habits for children. One hygiene kit includes the following items in new and original packaging: One adult toothbrush, one large bar of soap, one fingernail clipper and one dark-colored towel.
