HutchCC Sports Information

Off to a 5-0 start with five-straight shutouts, the Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team is ranked in the NJCAA Division I rankings in the first regular-season release, which came out Tuesday.

The Blue Dragons are No. 19 in the rankings, one of two Jayhawk Conference schools to appear in the rankings.

Hutchinson started the season receiving votes. The Blue Dragons are tied for the fourth-most wins of any team in the Top 20 and are one of 13 teams with no losses.

Hutch has appeared in 10 consecutive regular-season rankings.

The Blue Dragons (5-0, 1-0 Jayhawk West, 2-0 Region VI) have shutout victories over Northeast Nebraska, Trinidad State, Rose State, Hesston College and Barton. Hutch has outscored those five opponents 20-0.

Hutchinson hits the road for the first time this season on Wednesday at Pratt and will be at Northwest Tech on Saturday.

Butler is the other Jayhawk Conference school in the rankings. The 4-3 Grizzlies are ranked No. 10, falling three spots from their preseason spot. Johnson County fell completely out of the rankings this week.

Tyler Junior College is the No. 1 team in the nation at 6-0. The rest of the Top 5 is Eastern Florida State (2-0), Laramie County (4-1), Monroe (3-1) and Navarro (5-0).
