Hutchinson CC Sports Information

Two dominant victories last week helped the Hutchinson Community College trend upward in the NJCAA Division I rankings.

Now 20-4 after a 41-point win over Neosho County and a 54-point win over Colby, the Blue Dragons are No. 14 in this week's rankings, jumping up one spot from last week.

The No. 14 national ranking is the highest in the regular season for Hutchinson. The Blue Dragons were ranked No. 12 in the preseason rankings.

The Blue Dragons have now been ranked in four consecutive polls after a two-week absence in December stopped a run of 89 consecutive polling periods.

There are only two Jayhawk Conference teams in this week's rankings. Seward County moved up to No. 8. Cowley fell out of the Top 25, but is still receiving votes.

The Blue Dragons play Garden City at home on Wednesday and Butler at the Sports Arena on Saturday. Game times both nights are 5:30 p.m.
