Hutchinson Community College freshman golfer Charlie Crockett was named a semifinalist for the NJCAA Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Awards presented by Barbasol.

Crockett has had a huge season for the Blue Dragons in leading Hutchinson to the 2019 Jayhawk Conference and Region VI championships and an NJCAA District III runner-up finish.

Crockett was the Jayhawk Conference Individual champion for 2019 as well as the Region VI Champion. He has captured five tournament individual titles and will lead the Blue Dragons to the NJCAA Division I National Championship starting Tuesday in Melbourne, Florida.

Crockett is one of 30 semifinalists for the Nicklaus award. The finalists will be announced on Monday. Nicklaus Award recipients will be announced May 30 with the honor presented by Jack Nicklaus at a ceremony during the final round of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
