Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team climbed two spots in the NJCAA Division I National Rankings after defeating Garden City and Butler last week.

The 21-4 Blue Dragons are now No. 14 in the latest rankings released on Tuesday heading into Wednesday's huge Jayhawk Conference showdown at Barton.

No. 14 Hutchinson travels to Great Bend on Wednesday to take on No. 10 Barton with first place on the conference on the line.

The Blue Dragons have now been ranked in 41 consecutive polling periods and for the 72nd time in the last 73 polling periods.

Coffeyville, the third team in the logjam at the top of the conference standings is No. 15 this week.

For the first time this season, there is a new No. 1 team in the rankings. Indian Hills, the lone remaining undefeated team, moved past Northwest Florida State, which suffered its first loss of the season last week. The Warriors received all 16 first-place votes.

Florida Southwestern State is No. 3, followed by Odessa and Vincennes.
