Bowl History

Blue Dragon Football has played in 20 bowls in team history, despite two long bowl droughts. HutchCC’s longest time between bowl appearances was 23 years from 1970 to 1993. HCC also had a 20-year drought from 1949 to 1969.

With its appearance in the 2014 Salt City Bowl, the Blue Dragons had appeared in bowls in six-consecutive seasons. That mark bettered three-year runs from 1947-49 and 1993-95.

Dating back to 2004’s upset 15-10 victory over No. 9 Tyler Junior College in the Heart of Texas Bowl, the Blue Dragons have reeled off seven-consecutive bowl victories.

The Blue Dragons have compiled an 12-7-2 bowl record. HCC has played in eight different bowls against 18 different opponents.

Hutch has faced Glendale the most in bowl games, playing in the 1994, 1999 and 2003 Valley of the Sun Bowls. Hutchinson has appeared the most in the Salt City Bowl (7 times).
