The Hutchinson Community College football team looks to rebound for the first loss of the 2019 on Saturday as the Coffeyville Red Ravens come to Gowans Stadium.

Kickoff for the Jayhawk Conference matchup is Noon.

The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and on sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) beginning with Countdown to Kickoff at 11:30 a.m. Glen Grunwald (play-by-play), Rob Dreher (color) and Randy McKay (sidelines) will call the action. The game will also be streamed live on the Blue Dragon Sports Network.

One week ago, the Blue Dragons' run as the No. 1 team in the NJCAA came to an end at five weeks after being upset 29-27 at then-No. 20 Highland. The loss cost Hutchinson three spots in the latest NJCAA rankings, falling to No. 4.

Despite the loss, the Blue Dragons maintain sole possession of the Jayhawk Conference by 0.5 games over Garden City, which is idle on Saturday.

Last week, the Blue Dragons ran 80 plays and amassed 372 yards against the Scotties. But the Dragons came up empty three times in the red zone. The Dragons also had nine costly penalties for 103 yards. Special teams had a rough day against the Scotties with two missed field goals and a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown allowed on the game's opening play.

Defensively, the Dragons held their fourth-straight opponent to less than 100 rushing yards, but had a season-low one quarterback sack against Highland.

One of the bright spots for the Blue Dragons from last week as sophomore receiver. Mitchell Tinsley, who had career highs of seven receptions and 113 yards. Tinsley is Hutchinson's leading receiver this season with 29 receptions for 417 yards and three touchdowns.

Coffeyville had a rough start to the season, dropping five straight games before reeling off consecutive victories over Arkansas Baptist and Dodge City. The Red Ravens had to wait out a weather delay last Saturday at Veterans' Memorial Stadium to defeat Dodge City 14-3.

Raven running back Marco Lee rushed for 142 yards on 26 carries and a touchdown, while the Red Raven defense intercepted three passes and had seven quarterback sacks against the Conquistadors.

While the Red Ravens have an overall series advantage of 55-28-4 against the Blue Dragons, since 2008, Hutchinson has won 11 of the last 13 over Coffeyville, including a 24-14 victory over the Red Ravens last season in Coffeyville.

The Blue Dragons begin the second half of the 2019 season on Saturday, starting a stretch of three-straight home games. Next week, the Blue Dragons play host to Dodge City for Homecoming and on Thursday, October 24, Hutchinson will play host to RPA to close out the home schedule.
