After several weeks of major movement within the NJCAA football poll, there was very little this week. That includes the Hutchinson Community College football team, which stayed at No. 12 in the latest poll released on Tuesday morning.

Despite a 66-7 victory over Air Force Prep on Saturday in which the Blue Dragons amassed a team-record 724 yards of total offense, the Blue Dragons picked up 7.5 more points in this week’s poll, but failed climb in the poll.

The latest ranking marks the 35th-consecutive poll and the 44th time in the last 46 polls that the Blue Dragons have appeared in, which dates back to 2008.

The Blue Dragons opened the season ranked No. 10 in the preseason poll and dropped to No. 14 after a loss to then-No. 12 Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas. Two weeks later, HCC climbed to No. 11 after victories over Garden City and Dodge City, but dropped back to No. 13 during its bye week after the Sept. 22 block of games.

This is the seconds-straight week the Blue Dragons have been at No. 12.

Iowa Western remains the No. 1 team in the poll for the third straight week. Butler stayed at No. 2 and Arizona Western remained No. 3

The Blue Dragons (5-1) play host to Independence at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Gowans Stadium.
